SCLC/ Women’s Organizational Movement for Equality Now, Inc. (W.O.M.E.N.) was founded in 1979 by Evelyn Gibson Lowery, to champion the rights of women, children, families, and responding to the problems of the disenfranchised regardless of ethnicity, gender, age, or religion.
We are an independent 501c(3) nonprofit organization and our scope is worldwide, focusing on human rights concerns and transcending national boundaries. Our organization includes members from different denominations and accepts girls and women of any race, nationality, or culture.

To avoid the duplication of services we often collaborate with other organizations, in order to increase the effort in improving the lives of children and low-income people.
Our collaborators include:
The City of Atlanta Bureau of Recreation
City of Atlanta Fire Department
Operation Peace
Operation Weed & Seed
Healthy Grandparents
Georgians United Against Violence
Conversations With Daughters
Community Resident Associations, and others.
