SCLC/W.O.M.E.N., INC. Child Abuse Conference
In 2002, there were 44,932 substantiated
cases of abuse and neglect in Georgia. SCLC/W.O.M.E.N. sponsored this conference to bring to light the complex issues surrounding child
abuse & neglect and how they contribute to this startling statistic.
By bringing together concerned people from
throughout the community, we will all be better able to:
- Effectively educate our communities about
child abuse and neglect.
- Reduce or counter the factors that contribute
to abuse and neglect.
- Mobilize community support for families
in crisis.
- Prevent further abuse and neglect of children.
