According to Georgia Kids Count, African-American girls between the ages of 9 and 18 (from low-income families) are a high risk group for teenage pregnancy, juvenile delinquency, gang-involvement, substance abuse, school drop-out, and other challenges.

SCLC W.O.M.E.N., INC. is committed to "Bridging The Gap: From Girls to Womanhood" embraving girls 8 to 18 years of age throughout the communities in the surrounding Atlanta area.

Program components include:

  • "Sister Pairing"
  • Growing to Womanhood
  • Group Activities, focus on cultural and historic field trips, spiritual awareness, entrepreneurial skills, etc.
  • A tutoring program, designed to enhance shool performance and increase the likelihood of completing school.
